Baroque Era Music

Oakland Choral Society Fall 2017 Concert
with Choir, Orchestra & Soloists
Noah Horn, Artistic Director, Conductor

Featuring works of the Baroque Era, including
HANDEL, J.S. BACH, GABRIELI, CHARPENTIER, DE ARAUJO, ZELENKA, ARAÑA
Explore the works from the Portuguese ”barroco”, the period in Western European art music from about 1600 to 1750.  The music of Bach and Handel’s era sounded overly ornamented and exaggerated, to the nineteenth century music aficionado, to us it is a beginning of a new era, when sounds of Jazz and syncopated rhythms come to life.
