Dr. John Dovaras was the conductor of the predecessor choir, the Oakland University Community Chorus. He is fondly remembered by several of the current, active members of the Oakland Choral Society. He will be missed by many and remembered in our concert performances.

Thanks to Anita for the note and the reference to the Obituary. Dr. John Nicholas Dovaras, November 22, 1933 - April 24, 2018, Born in Brockton, MA, Resided in Michigan.

Interesting story concerning Morten Lauridsen and the composition and production of the Lux Aeterna. The power of music is amazing.

Moten tells about the time he visited Paul Salmunovich.

Fall 2017 Baroque Around The World

Submitted by admin on Sun, 02/18/2018 - 20:01

The Fall 2017 program featured works from around the world, seven countries and five languages. We had a great time with this concert and people were quite pleased.

It seems that our followers like the Baroque period and the program contained pieces that are seldom performed. See the program at this link.
